Facebook introduce another main functionality called Marketplace with lunching the new version of Messenger Lite. This functionality enables you to buy or sell items with people in your community. The new feature is aimed at both the Android and iOS devices, but it's limited to only four countries (US, UK, Australia and New Zealand) at the moment.
To visit Marketplace, just tap on the shop icon at the bottom of the Facebook app and start exploring. Marketplace opens with photos of items that peoples near by you have listed for sales. if you want to find something specific, you can find it by searching and results will be filter by location, category or price. Also you can browse items in a variety of categories such as Household, Electronics and Apparel. If you want to change the city or region you are looking in, can use the built-in location tool.
When you find something interesting, tap on the image to see more details from the seller, including a product description, the name and profile photo of the seller, and their general location. You can also save the item to find it later.
If you decided to buy something, Marketplace facilitate you to send offer to the seller and that point onward seller and you can continue the business as you wish. Facebook does not facilitate payment or delivery of items in Marketplace.
Posting the items for sale in Marketplace is easy and you have to follow only few steps mention in the below.
- Take photo of the item you want to sell and add it to Marketplace
- Enter product name, description and price
- Confirm your location and select category
- Post
Under item section in the Marketplace you can find the all information regarding to your current and past transactions.
Facebook team willing to expand this in to other countries and make Marketplace available on the desktop version of Facebook in the coming months.
